Improvisation and Creativity

In this fascinating talk, Charles Limb shares his work which looks at musical improvisation and its effects on the brain. Using fMRI scanning, Limb discusses how different areas of the brain are stimulated through the process of musical improvisation. He describes the differences in brain activity between playing music that is composed and familiar to music that is spontaneously improvised.
